Healthcare Benefits
Private Medical Insurance
Private Medical Insurance (PMI) aims to cover the cost of treatment for ‘acute conditions’ in a private hospital setting. It is commonly used to avoid long NHS waiting lists and gain immediate access to diagnosis and treatment from specialists and medical professionals, allowing staff themselves to benefit from prompt access to treatment with the business also benefitting from reduced employee absence.
The policy can be tailored to suit their demands and needs, including options to cover the whole workforce or defined key categories of employees.
*Depending on the size of a scheme, each employee is subject to a simple underwriting process to determine if pre-existing conditions are excluded.
Cover for Individuals
Whether you are a group leaver or looking to implement an individual private medical insurance plan we will be able to assist you.
If you are a consumer and have an existing policy in place, we recommend that you review your benefits and consider market options at least once every 3 years to be sure the policy continues to meet your demands & needs and remain competitive for the level of cover required. To appoint us as your broker to your current policy please get in touch to discuss further.
Dental Insurance
Maintaining good oral health is widely recommended. Dental insurance is designed to help employees offset the cost of potentially expensive dental care in the absence of NHS dental care.
Dental insurance usually offers different levels of benefit, covering the following:
- routine check-ups
- restorative treatment, such as fillings, crowns, bridges
- dental accidents and emergencies
- overseas dental cover.
Cash Plans
Implementing a cash plan is an excellent way to offer a basic level of ‘everyday healthcare’ benefits to the workforce such as routine dental or optical treatment, physiotherapy, health and wellbeing platforms and much more.
Entry level cash plans are low cost and well received by employees who appreciate the financial reimbursements. Employees also have the opportunity to increase their levels via payroll deduction or personal direct debit with some providers.
Some Commonly covered treatments are
- Dentist: Both check-ups and dental treatments.
- Optical: Sight tests and prescription glasses or contact lenses.
- Physiotherapy: Sometimes coupled with osteopathy, sometimes separate.
- Maternity payments: Cash, paid when a child is born.
- Complementary health: Osteopathy, chiropractic’s, homeopathy and acupuncture by a registered practitioner.
- Hospital inpatient: A cash allowance paid for each night spent in hospital.
- Special consultation: Repayment of fees paid towards a consultant physician or surgeon.
- Health screening: Schemes will pay for an annual health screening.
Employee Assistance Programmes
Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP) have evolved to become a core product for many businesses.
Mental Health propositions are currently at the forefront of many business owners’ priorities and implementing an Employee Assistance Programme is a key factor in offering a strong health and wellbeing scheme for staff.
The purpose of an Employee Assistance Programme is to provide mental health and wellbeing support to the workforce, helping employees remain in work while reducing presenteeism – a need to work during periods of illness to alleviate job insecurity fears. Like the other employee benefits, it is used as an important tool for retaining staff, reducing absence and increasing productivity and employee satisfaction.
International Private Medical Insurance
International Private Medical Insurance is designed to for Employers with a global workforce ( employees working on secondment or residing permanently). It provides emergency cover and routine medical treatment in the country where the member is residing.
Local laws and regulations can change regularly and need to be taken into consideration before implementing a policy. For example, some countries require private medical insurance cover to be in place before the employee arrives in the country.
